The New Rider Program is a guided path for first-time and beginner riders in The Woodlands and the Greater Houston area.

You’ll complete a certified motorcycle safety course, purchase a new or pre-owned motorcycle from Woodlands Premium Motorcycles, and receive course cost credit that can be applied toward eligible riding gear or accessories (terms may apply).

• First-time motorcycle riders
• Riders returning after time away
• New endorsement seekers who want real-world confidence
• Buyers shopping for a first BMW Motorrad, Indian Motorcycle, Royal Enfield, or quality pre-owned motorcycle

No. Approved motorcycle safety courses are designed for riders who do not have their motorcycle license yet. In Texas, every Class M applicant must complete a course approved by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR), and completing it waives the DPS knowledge test. Adults who already hold a valid, unrestricted Texas Class A, B, or C license can also have the skills test waived after completing the course. See the full requirements on the Texas Department of Public Safety page.

Our team can help point you in the right direction if you have questions about the licensing process before you visit.

We recommend completing your safety course before purchasing – and here’s why: training helps you understand how a motorcycle actually handles, which makes choosing the right bike a much more informed decision. Riders who train first tend to select motorcycles that are a better fit for their skill level and riding style.

That said, many riders visit our showroom first to explore options, then complete their course before finalizing a purchase. Either way works – our team will walk you through the process and make sure your course credit is applied correctly when the time comes.

Our primary training partner is Safety on Two Wheels. Riders may also complete training through other approved schools – we’ve listed some below. If you’ve already completed a qualifying course, our team will review it with you.

Courses available in The Woodlands and Houston area:

• Safety on Two Wheels (Dealership Partner)
• Ride Smart Motorcycle School
• MRH Motorcycle Rider Training
• Awesome Cycles Motorcycle Riding School
• Motorcycle Safety Foundation
• Ride Like a Pro Riding School

• Motorcycle controls and operation
• Low-speed maneuvering and balance
• Emergency braking and swerving
• Street strategies and hazard awareness

If you’ve already completed a qualifying motorcycle safety course, bring your completion certificate or receipt when you visit. Our team will review it and confirm whether it qualifies for the course cost credit toward eligible gear or accessories.

If you’re not sure whether your course qualifies, call (936) 271-7600 or text (936) 271-7600 or (713) 804-4696 before your visit and we’ll give you a straight answer.

After completing an approved safety course and purchasing a motorcycle from Woodlands Premium Motorcycles, your course cost credit can be applied toward eligible riding gear and accessories (terms and exclusions may apply).

Bring your course receipt or completion certificate when you visit and our team will walk you through how the credit applies to your purchase.

Yes. The New Rider Program is available for both new and pre-owned motorcycle purchases from Woodlands Premium Motorcycles. A pre-owned motorcycle from our dealership can be a great starting point for a new rider – inspected, ready to ride, and often more accessible from a budget standpoint.

Terms and exclusions may apply. Our team will confirm the details based on your specific purchase when you visit.

We offer a strong selection of beginner-friendly and confidence-building motorcycles across BMW Motorrad, Indian Motorcycle, Royal Enfield, and carefully inspected pre-owned motorcycles.

Starting with the right gear matters as much as starting with the right bike. At a minimum, every new rider should have:

• A DOT or ECE-rated helmet
• A riding jacket with impact protection
• Gloves designed for motorcycle riding
• Over-the-ankle boots with slip-resistant soles
• Riding pants with knee and hip protection

Our team can help you identify what you need and apply your course cost credit toward eligible gear purchases. Visit our parts and accessories department or ask our team when you come in.
