Buying a Motorcycle
Do I need a motorcycle license to buy a motorcycle in Texas?
No. You do not need a motorcycle license or endorsement to buy a motorcycle in Texas. You do need a valid Class M license or endorsement to ride it on public roads.
If you are new to riding, our New Rider Program is a great place to start.
What motorcycle brands do you carry?
Woodlands Premium Motorcycles is an authorized dealer for BMW Motorrad, Indian Motorcycle, and Royal Enfield, and we also carry premium pre-owned motorcycles.
Focusing on these brands lets our team offer deeper product knowledge, the right diagnostic tools, and better parts support over the life of your motorcycle.
Do you sell both new and pre-owned motorcycles in The Woodlands area?
Yes. You can browse current availability anytime on our New Inventory and Pre-Owned Inventory pages.
Do you keep BMW Motorrad adventure and touring motorcycles in stock?
We often have popular BMW Motorrad adventure and touring models on the floor, but availability changes quickly.
The fastest way to check is our current inventory, or call or text us to ask about a specific model.
Can I test ride a motorcycle before I buy?
Yes. Test rides are free and available Tuesday through Saturday during business hours, and no reservation is required.
Riders must be 25 or older with at least 2 years of riding experience, a valid motorcycle license, proof of motorcycle insurance in their name, and a helmet. Not every bike is available to ride, so call or text ahead to check on the one you want.
See full details on our Schedule a Test Ride page.
What should I bring when I come in to buy a motorcycle?
It helps to bring a valid driver license, proof of insurance or your insurance agent’s contact information, and your title or loan payoff information if you are trading in a bike.
If you plan to finance, getting pre-approved online first can speed things up. Our team will let you know if anything else is needed for your purchase.
Can I buy a motorcycle if I live outside the Houston area?
Yes. We work with riders across Texas and out of state, and our Nationwide Delivery program can help get your motorcycle to you. Delivery options and costs depend on your location.
Motorcycle Financing
Can I get pre-approved for motorcycle financing online?
Yes. You can start a secure application on our Get Pre-Approved page. Pre-approval helps you know where you stand before you visit and can make the buying process faster.
Can I finance a motorcycle with bad credit in Texas?
Possibly. We work with multiple lenders and can help riders across a range of credit profiles, including riders who are rebuilding credit. Approval and terms depend on the lender and your full application.
You can start securely online on our Get Pre-Approved page.
What credit score is needed to finance a motorcycle?
There is no single minimum score. Lenders usually look at the full picture, including income, debt-to-income ratio, credit history, and down payment, not just one number.
How much down payment do I need for a motorcycle?
Down payment requirements vary by lender and credit profile. Some qualified buyers may need little down, while others choose to put more down to lower their monthly payment.
Do you offer promotional or low-APR motorcycle financing?
Promotional rates may be available on select models, depending on current manufacturer programs and eligibility. Our team will explain what is available for the motorcycle you are considering.
Start on our Get Pre-Approved page.
How long does motorcycle financing approval take?
It depends on the lender and how complete your application is. Many applications get a decision quickly once all required information is in, and getting pre-approved online ahead of time can speed things up.

New Riders & Getting Started
I have never ridden before. Where should I start?
Start with training, licensing, and choosing a bike that fits your goals. Our New Rider Program lays it out step by step.
What is the Woodlands Premium Motorcycles New Rider Program?
It is our way of helping new riders start strong. Complete your MSF course with Safety on Two Wheels or another certified program, purchase your motorcycle from Woodlands Premium Motorcycles, and bring your course receipt. When applicable, you receive a credit equal to your class cost toward riding gear.
Get the details on our New Rider Program page.
Where can I take a motorcycle safety course near The Woodlands?
We recommend Safety on Two Wheels or another certified MSF program. Completing an approved course is part of getting your Texas Class M license, and your course receipt can count toward our New Rider Program when you buy from us.
What is the best beginner motorcycle for Texas riders?
The best beginner bike depends on your height, comfort, confidence, and whether you will ride mostly around town or on the highway. Our team will help match you to a bike that feels manageable and fun, not just one with the right engine size.
Do you help new riders choose the right motorcycle?
Yes. We focus on fit, ergonomics, how you plan to ride, and realistic riding goals, not just engine size.
What riding gear is required in Texas?
Texas law requires riders and passengers under 21 to wear a helmet. Riders 21 and older may ride without one only if they have completed an approved motorcycle safety course or carry qualifying health insurance.
Whatever the legal minimum, we recommend a helmet, eye protection, gloves, a riding jacket, and sturdy boots on every ride.
Seasonal Riding in Southeast Texas
How does Texas heat affect motorcycle maintenance?
Heat can speed up battery wear, affect tire pressure, and break down fluids faster. Regular inspections and staying on schedule with service helps prevent avoidable problems.

Full winterization is usually unnecessary here. If you are storing your bike for a while, battery maintenance and fuel stabilization are smart habits.
How should I prepare my motorcycle for hurricane season?
Store it indoors when possible, avoid flood-prone areas, and consider disconnecting the battery for longer storage. If you want help prepping your bike, schedule service ahead of peak storm season.
Is year-round motorcycle riding common in Southeast Texas?
Yes. Many riders in The Woodlands and Houston area ride year-round when the weather cooperates, with seasonal adjustments for heat, rain, and storm planning.
