What should I have ready when I drop off my motorcycle?

To help our service team get started quickly, have the following ready:

  • Year, make, and model (and VIN if you have it)
  • Current mileage
  • A description of what you need done or what you’re noticing – sounds, symptoms, warning lights, handling changes
  • Any relevant service history if you have it
  • Keys and any security codes or fob information

The more detail you can give our team upfront, the more efficiently your service visit will go. If something changed on the ride over, mention it when you arrive – even small details help.

Do you service motorcycles not purchased from your dealership?

Yes. If you ride a BMW Motorrad, Indian Motorcycle, or Royal Enfield that was purchased at another dealership, you are still welcome in our service department. You do not have to have bought your bike from us to get it serviced here.

For questions about other situations, give us a call before you schedule. Call (936) 271-7600 or text (936) 271-7600 or (713) 804-4696 and our team will give you a straight answer.

Can you do warranty or recall work?

Yes, for qualifying work on the brands we carry. As an authorized BMW Motorrad, Indian Motorcycle, and Royal Enfield dealer, we can perform warranty and recall work on those brands subject to manufacturer guidelines, eligibility, and parts availability.

If you’re not sure whether your repair or recall qualifies, call or text us with your VIN and a description of the issue and we’ll confirm before you bring the bike in.

Can you install accessories or parts during a service visit?

Yes. Accessories, parts, and upgrades can often be installed during a scheduled service visit. If you’re planning to add something to your bike at the same time as a service, let us know when you schedule so we can plan the time and have everything ready.

Visit our parts and accessories department to explore what’s available, or call us and our parts team can help you figure out what you need before your appointment.

How often should I service my motorcycle?

Service intervals vary by brand, model, and riding conditions, and every new motorcycle needs a break-in service before it moves to a regular schedule. As a general guide:

  • BMW Motorrad – break-in service at about 600 miles (1,000 km). After that, service is typically every 6,000 miles (10,000 km) or once a year, whichever comes first. The annual service still applies even if you ride fewer miles.
  • Indian Motorcycle – break-in service at 500 miles, performed at an authorized dealer like ours. After that, intervals depend on the model. Many large V-twin models like the Chief, Chieftain, and Roadmaster are typically on a 5,000-mile schedule, so ask our service team what applies to your bike.
  • Royal Enfield – first service at about 300 to 500 miles (500 km) or one month, whichever comes first. After that, most models are typically serviced every 3,000 to 6,000 miles or every 6 to 12 months, depending on the model.

Your owner’s manual is the most accurate source for your specific model’s service schedule. If you’re not sure where you stand, bring it in and our service team can take a look and let you know what’s due.

Can you prepare my motorcycle for a long trip?

Yes. If you’re heading out on a long ride – Hill Country, Big Bend, a rally, or any extended trip – we can do a pre-trip inspection to check tires, brakes, fluids, chain or belt, battery, and overall condition before you leave. Catching something small before a long ride is far better than dealing with it on the road.

Book your pre-trip service ahead of time so our team has the availability to get through everything properly. The closer to your departure date, the harder it is to fit you in – so plan early if you can.

How long will my service take?

Service time depends on the work being done, parts availability, and our current schedule. Routine maintenance and simple jobs are typically faster. Diagnostics, repairs, and more complex work may take longer, especially if parts need to be ordered.

Our service coordinator will give you a realistic estimate when they confirm your appointment. If anything changes once the bike is in the shop, we’ll contact you before proceeding so you always know where things stand.
