Sell or Trade FAQ
What powersports vehicles do you buy?
We buy a broad range of powersports vehicles – any make, any model, generally 10 years old and newer. That includes:
- Motorcycles – street, sport, touring, cruiser, adventure, dual-sport, and more. Brands include BMW Motorrad, Indian Motorcycle, Royal Enfield, Harley-Davidson, Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Suzuki, Ducati, KTM, Triumph, and others.
- ATVs – sport and utility, any make
- UTVs and side-by-sides – recreational and utility models
- Personal watercraft – Jet Ski, WaveRunner, Sea-Doo, and other brands
Condition, mileage, hours, and current market demand all factor into your offer. Fill out the form above with your year, make, model, mileage or hours, and any accessories or modifications, and our team will follow up with next steps.
Not sure if your vehicle qualifies? Call (936) 271-7600 or text (936) 271-7600 or (713) 804-4696 and we’ll give you a straight answer before you make the trip.
How does the process work?
The process is straightforward from start to finish:
- Submit your vehicle details using the form above – year, make, model, mileage or hours, condition, and any accessories.
- Our team reviews your submission and follows up to discuss the vehicle and schedule an in-person evaluation.
- You bring the vehicle to our Shenandoah location. Our team inspects it in person and provides a final offer based on actual condition, current market conditions, and demand.
- If you accept, we handle the paperwork and issue payment. If you decide not to sell, there is no obligation and no pressure.
Please note that any figures or estimates discussed before your in-person evaluation are preliminary – not a guaranteed final offer. See below for more on how our offer process works.
Is any offer made before inspection a firm offer?
No. Any estimate, range, or preliminary figure discussed over the phone, by text, or based on a form submission is not a firm offer. A final offer can only be made after our team has inspected the vehicle in person.
This matters because condition affects value in ways that a description, photos, or a detailed conversation simply cannot capture. We take the information sellers provide in good faith – but the reality of used vehicle transactions is that what a vehicle looks like on paper and what it looks like in the bay are not always the same thing. When there’s a significant gap between the two, we have to adjust our offer accordingly.
The best thing you can do to help the process go smoothly is to be upfront about known issues before you bring the vehicle in. Known mechanical problems, cosmetic damage, accident history, deferred maintenance, missing parts, and any modifications should all be disclosed when you submit your details. The more accurate your description, the closer our preliminary estimate will be to the final number – and the smoother the conversation will be when you arrive.
We aren’t trying to lowball anyone. We are trying to make an offer that reflects what the vehicle is actually worth. Accurate information upfront protects your time and ours.
What information do I need to have ready?
The more accurate the information you provide upfront, the faster and more accurate our preliminary estimate will be. Have the following ready when you contact us:
- Year, make, and model
- Current mileage or hours
- VIN or HIN (hull identification number for watercraft)
- Title status – do you have the title in hand?
- Current loan balance, if applicable
- Any aftermarket accessories, modifications, or upgrades
- Known mechanical issues, cosmetic damage, or accident history – please be thorough here
- Maintenance history, if available
What is my vehicle worth?
Vehicle values depend on several factors: year, make, model, mileage or hours, overall condition, current market demand, and whether the title is clean and in hand. Aftermarket accessories can add value in some cases, though not always dollar for dollar.
Online tools like Kelley Blue Book, NADA Guides, or ABOS Marine can give you a general range, but a real offer from a dealership reflects what the current market will actually support – which can be higher or lower than published guides depending on the vehicle and timing.
The most accurate number comes after an in-person evaluation. Submitting your details through the form above is the first step toward getting that real number. There is no cost and no obligation to accept.
What condition does my vehicle need to be in?
We consider vehicles in a range of conditions, from excellent to project-ready. You do not need to make repairs before getting an offer – but being thorough and honest about known issues upfront makes a real difference in how smoothly the process goes.
Known mechanical problems, cosmetic damage, missing parts, accident history, and deferred maintenance all affect the offer. Our team will factor those things in one way or another – either because you told us, or because we find them during the inspection. The difference is that discovering issues at inspection that weren’t disclosed upfront can change the numbers in ways that are frustrating for everyone.
Tell us what you know. We’d rather have that conversation upfront than at the end of an inspection.
Can I sell a vehicle that still has a loan on it?
Yes, in many cases. If your vehicle has an active loan, we will need to know the current payoff amount from your lender. The payoff is factored into the transaction – if our offer exceeds the payoff, you receive the difference. If the payoff is higher than the offer, you would need to cover the gap.
Have your lender’s payoff information ready when you contact us and our team can walk you through how it applies to your situation.
What is the difference between selling outright and trading in?
Both options are available at Woodlands Premium Motorcycles, and the right choice depends on what you’re planning next.
Selling outright means we purchase your vehicle directly and issue you payment. You walk away with cash or a check and no further obligation. This works well if you are not planning to purchase another motorcycle right away, or if you simply want to liquidate cleanly.
Trading in means the value of your current vehicle is applied toward the purchase of a new or pre-owned motorcycle from our showroom. A trade-in can reduce the amount you finance and simplify the transaction into a single visit.
Not sure which makes more sense for you? Call (936) 271-7600 or text (936) 271-7600 or (713) 804-4696 and our team can walk through both options before you commit to anything.
Do I have to buy a motorcycle to sell my vehicle?
No. You do not have to purchase anything from us to sell your vehicle. If you want a straight cash offer with no strings attached, that is a valid option. If you later decide you’d like to browse our inventory or explore a trade, we’re happy to help with that too – but there is no requirement or pressure to do so.
How do I get paid?
Payment details are handled at the time of the transaction. Our team will walk you through the payment process when you come in to finalize the sale. If you have specific questions about payment method or timing before your visit, call (936) 271-7600 or text (936) 271-7600 or (713) 804-4696 and we’ll give you a straight answer.
For trade-ins, the value of your vehicle is applied directly toward your next purchase rather than issued as a separate payment.
How long does the process take?
Once you submit your details, our team typically follows up the same business day. The in-person evaluation is generally straightforward and does not take long. The full transaction – paperwork, title transfer, and payment – can often be completed in a single visit once a final offer is accepted.
Having your title, ID, and any loan payoff information ready in advance will help the process move quickly. Our team is available Tuesday through Friday 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM and Saturday 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
Why should I sell my ride to a dealership and not a private seller?
Selling a powersports vehicle privately through Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, or similar platforms can work – but it comes with real trade-offs worth understanding before you go that route.
Time and effort. You’ll write the listing, field messages, filter out lowballers and no-shows, schedule meetups, and repeat the process every time a buyer falls through. What looks like a quick sale can drag on for weeks.
Payment risk. Cashier’s checks can be faked. Zelle and Venmo payments can sometimes be reversed after the transaction. Verifying payment legitimacy is entirely on you.
Title and paperwork liability. Once you hand over the title and the buyer leaves, you are responsible for anything that happens until the title is properly transferred. If the buyer delays the transfer or has an incident, you could be exposed.
No backup after the sale. If there’s a dispute about the vehicle’s condition after the sale, it becomes a personal conflict with no neutral party involved.
Working with a dealership removes most of these variables. The transaction is documented, the payment is verified, the title is handled correctly, and there is a professional team managing the process from start to finish.
Are there safety concerns with private powersports sales?
Yes, and they’re worth taking seriously.
Test rides and demos with strangers. Allowing an unknown buyer to test ride a motorcycle or demo a watercraft is a genuine risk. You have no way to verify their license, experience, or insurance. If they’re involved in an incident on your vehicle, your insurance may be involved and your recourse is limited.
Meeting strangers with a high-value item. Listing a powersports vehicle publicly means anyone can contact you. Theft, fraud, and dangerous situations – while not common – do happen in private vehicle transactions.
Scams targeting sellers. Overpayment scams, fake escrow services, and fraudulent wire transfers specifically target private vehicle listings. Sellers unfamiliar with these tactics can lose both the vehicle and the payment.
Selling to Woodlands Premium Motorcycles means you are dealing with a licensed dealership at a physical location you can verify. The process is built to protect both parties and eliminate the variables that make private sales unpredictable.
What happens to my vehicle after you buy it?
Most vehicles we purchase are inspected, serviced as needed, and listed in our pre-owned inventory for sale to other riders and buyers. This is part of how we maintain a strong selection of quality used inventory for customers in The Woodlands area and beyond.
If you’re also in the market to upgrade, our new inventory includes BMW Motorrad, Indian Motorcycle, and Royal Enfield. You can also schedule a test ride before you decide, or request a quick quote on something you’ve been eyeing.
Where do you buy powersports vehicles from?
We work with sellers from across North Houston and the surrounding region. Customers bring us vehicles from:
- The Woodlands and Shenandoah
- Spring and Oak Ridge North
- Conroe and Willis
- Tomball and Magnolia
- Montgomery and Lake Conroe area
- North Houston and Greater Houston
If you’re further out and want to confirm we’d be interested in your vehicle before making the trip, call (936) 271-7600 or text (936) 271-7600 or (713) 804-4696. We can discuss your vehicle over the phone and give you a realistic sense of whether an in-person visit makes sense.
